Benajarafe
Benajarafe is a charming coastal resort, in the east of the Costa del Sol, which boasts a great location, situated beside a long stretch of beach where you will find clear waters and all the water sports your heart desires. The town is quite sleepy during the out of season months; it’s mainly a summer resort, with the population increasing during the summer months.
Inland from the town is the beautiful mountainous Axarquia region, which is ideal for hikers, nature lovers and anybody who appreciates natural beauty.
Benajarafe is located 7 kilometres from Rincón de la Victoria, 45 kilometres from the centre of Málaga, a journey time of 40 minutes by car, and to its east Torre del Mar is approximately 10 kilometres away.
Cuisine
Benajarafe's cuisine is typical of the area, with lots of seafood and rice on the menu. There are a number of tapas bars, restaurants and cáfes in Benajarfe. Some more traditional bars will often give you a small amount of tapas for free with a caña (small beer).
Benajarafe's situation by the seaside affords it the pleasure of being home to Chiringuitos (beach bars), where you can watch the fishing boats, which have often caught what you are eating.
Golf
The nearest golf course to Benajarafe is Añoreta golf, just a 6 kilometre drive away. It was the first golf course built to the east of the city of Málaga, and was designed by Ryder Cup winner José María Cañizares.
