Puente Genil

Puente Genil is a picturesque town situated in the province of Cordoba, in Andalusia. The town lies around 70 kilometres from the historical city of Cordoba and sits along the Malaga Cordoba train route, which you can catch from Malaga airport.

The name derives from the bridge (Puente) over the river Genil; Puente Genil is a large agricultural
centre in the province of Cordoba, producing wine, olive oil, linen and jams. It is also well known for its Semana Santa (Holy Week) celebrations.

About town
The town is well preserved, built on the riverbanks, it has some beautiful noble homes, as well as traditional dwellings.

Puente Genil has excellent amenities, including supermarkets, shops, banks, chemist, bars and restaurants. There is also a market where you can find all the produce and wares you need to equip your stay.

Cultural visits worth a trip during your stay include the Bodegas Delgado (wine cellars), where you can see the wine-making process and also taste the delicious wines themselves. The

The climate of Puente Genil is that of a typical Andalusian inland town. During the summer months the towns gets hot, into late 30, early 40 degree temperatures. The spring and autumn is
generally mild, and the winters do get slightly colder, than the protected Costa del Sol and Malaga region.
